Dodiquilt: you can 'do!
is a small group of people ....... 2, Cristina and Lydia, who share a beautiful thing: a passion for patchwork.
It is certainly not the only passion of our lives, but it certainly permeates all others.
We agreed to meet in order to maximize our resources: as we say sometimes, they can do for us 2 4. We
in the house of one or the other, when the passion and the call time at our disposal permits, otherwise each of us working on his behalf but always keeping in touch ... "technical".
We really like the challenge: what if .... combine these two tissues that apparently have nothing to say or change the wire instead usandone a bigger or too thin? At times, changes that seem minor can give the quilt that extra something or effect so sought.
Our works were often gifts for special people: being born from an idea, an idea that crosses your mind and you feel you must put into practice. Cristina, for example when a new project in his head can not help but see him mentally, all the time, making connections with all that this or that happen to observe.
We have worked for us, but also participated in exhibitions and competitions .
A work of Lydia was in the exposure of Country Life Modena in 2003, another was exposed to the Carrefour in Val d'Argent in 2006. A work of Cristina was selected for the competition of Lugano in 2007 and one in 2008 for Italy contest Quilt "Poetry shapes and colors."
We had the pleasure of meeting the artist Pascale Goldemberg in Treviso in 2006 and two of our quilts have taken part in the exhibition itinerant "Le fil de femmes à femmes" in 2007 / 8;
We always try new techniques all the time and read all the material that we can also find on the web: we become increasingly aware of what remains to be learned and above all to discover in the textile world.
quilting techniques as old as the Florentine or Japanese Shibori existed for centuries and yet we are not able to explore them with satisfaction. The more we enter the world of textiles and more curiosity increases.
If at the time we are in two in our group, does not mean that other people do not like, indeed!
Anyone with ideas to put to the test (and practice) is definitely welcome and if any of you would contact us we are always ready to dive into an interesting project.
Who we are now beginning to say: Never give up! What now seems hard to become a pleasant habit: just believe in yourself and work with passion.
We can only add that the effort to work at night or stolen moments early in the morning does not diminish the fun of it.
With work eight hours a day and a family to ensure we are delighted that this passion has infected us.
will be a disease? We hope to infect as many people as possible!
